Gore probably would have demanded increased weapons inspection, maybe bombings and sanctions; but not outright war, especially without the UN. The "new" Gore is absolutely opposed to the war. I believe Gore has grown and learned these past years and has strayed away from his DLC leanings. I don't agree the Democrats are soft on security as Ritter suggests. He is military, and he must know that many Democratic leaders have past military experience, especially in war. And, I do remember Clinton, with a Republican Congress, attempted to enact a bill to monitor terrorist money laundering through banking institutions and it was shot down by the Republicans.
