I have seen a lot of people professing their influence in the Miers debacle. Give me a break! It was done by right-wing religious nuts. It just so happened that our interests were directed against the same person. This withdrawal didn't happen because of us (us in the broad sense), it happened regardless of us.

Having said that, a toast: "Huzzah for the end of Miers's candidacy"
