I don't think so. There were a lot of us who were saying his day was done. I'll never get over the stealing of the election in 2000, but Gore never fought hard enough for it, neither before Nov 2 nor afterward, in the runup to the Supreme Court decision in December. He would have been a wonderful president, would not have gleefully gone to war after Sept 11 even if those events had happened. But too many people, including his former supporters, see him as flawed and uncertain.
