Thw War on Al-Quada and the War in Iraq. His views on the economy, civil rights, civil liberties, and the environment are mainstream to liberal. He has the right electoral base, background and demeanor to fight a protracted struggle against superior odds. Will Dems give him the chance? If we want to win, we will, but we're Democrats so winning isn't always the preferred result. Sometimes we just want to make a point.
