My geology professor had a small stroke last week...

A week ago today, my geology professor had a small stroke. He was fine after that, however. He just lost feeling in his extremities, his speech was slurred, and he couldn't walk. That was the worst of it up until now.

Now, I just got an email from a friend of his, and she just said he was transferred to ICU this morning. She thinks he had another stroke, and this time it could've been much more severe.

I hope he's okay. He is a great guy. I enjoy having him as a professor. He doesn't teach like a normal professor does. He lectures such that everyone in the class sits in a circle and gets actively involved in the lecture instead of having him stand up in front of class and lecture. He would also go on small tangents where he would complain about how the country is running right now (he hates Bush--he actually wants Kucinich as President).

He has also become like a grandfather to me outside of class. I would go to his house and talk to him about whatever. My twin brother and I would go over there for the afternoon and we'd sit there and talk and laugh. Peter has become a great person to have around.

I hope he pulls through. If he does, though, I don't see him teaching ever again, which is too bad. I just hope nothing happens to him. He'll surely be missed. :(
