5. A great song can be covered by anyone.
The song's the thing. Who'd of thunk STP's "Shine" would sound great covered by Dolly Parton and a Blue Grass band. If you can find an original vinyl release of "Private Dancer" by Tina Turner, the last track is a killer bluesy version of the Beatle's "Help". And how about "Route 66"...Depeche Mode even covered that song! Or Henley's "Sit down your rockin' the boat", a show tune for Crissake!
It really is the song that's most important, and "Everybody Hurts" is a great song, although maybe Cocker should try "Can't get there from here."
