Best Thanksgiving tip and recipe

This is my annual tip - don't think you gotta make the mashed potatoes at the last minute (along with the gravy, veggies, carving and all the other last minute stuff.) Smash your taters hours before, w/milk and butter and whatever you use. Put 'em in a preheated crock pot and give 'em a stir every half hour or so. If serving buffet-style just plug it in at that table when it's time to eat. Taste like they were just mashed and they stay hot through the entire meal.

Recipe - Green Beans Gremolata. I'm always looking for new side dishes that don't involve canned french-fried onion rings. Tried this out with my actors (yeah, yeah, they eat anything)and it won raves. (BTW, when I say "my" actors, it's because this is what I do - www.mysteriesbymoushey.com)

Easy-peasy, serves 8.

Gremolata
1/2 C. minced fresh parsley
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 T. grated lemon zest
1/4 C. freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Mix together.

2 lbs. fresh green beans, trimmed.
Steam till crisp-tender.
Toss with 3 T. olive oil

Then, toss with gremolata.

Serve at once.
