Many animals exhibit cheating characteristics due to genetics. Especially prevalent in birds where females of some species will risk death (the usual consequence of getting caught) to get a chance at "better" genes of the more dominant males.
Note, it isn't the primary factor (under 50%) and men weren't studied but almost surely have a similar "suite" of genes.
