9. Hey, I'm hypothyroid too!
I found out about six months ago after five years of misdiagnosis and suffering. I finally got a doctor who didn't just chalk it up to depression and stress

Don't let them treat you only based on TSH. You can have normal TSH and still be very hypo. Make sure the do a Free T4 and Free T3 test as well. I had normal TSH and Free T4, but extremely low Free T3. Some people don't convert the Synthroid into T3 and stay hypo until they get Armour Thyroid or Thyrolar which contain T3 as well as T4.

My doctor just switched me to Armour and I can hardly believe the difference. I was really skeptical, even though many of the hypothyroid sufferers I know swear by it. But Synthroid wasn't doing anything for me and my T3 levels just kept dropping. I've been on Armour now for about a month and I actually have enough energy to exercise again.

Knowing you, I'm sure you're pretty well educated about your condition, but if you need any info, please let me know. When I was diagnosed, I went a little beserk finding out everything I could about Hashimoto's and hypothyroidism. I probably drive my doctor crazy, though he'd never admit it. I just like to be super-informed. :-)

Hope you feel better soon!
