Father used to go on regular bambi hunts to kill cute animals that had never done us any harm. Accompanying him, I once successfully put a lead projectile through the body of an innocent creature, eviscerated it, rode home with it barbarically displayed on the hood, arranged for it to be professionally dismembered and packaged, and cooked and ate it (1) over the next several months.

Ick. Sounds bad even to me, after all these years.

(1) actually, my mom did the cooking, as I didn't master the skill until I was much older.
