9. hey, go ahead and name the gym
this free market thing doesn't work unless we name the guilty.

How about this:

Gold's Gym in Dallas was shut down for nonpayment of taxes. I lost a brand new 2 year membership for two paid in advance. State attorney general said sorry sucker.

I signed up at 24 Hour Fitness and found a better gym 3 days later. I called from work, because it was still within the 3 day "no fault" period for me to cancel. I called at 2:30 and they said that I had signed the contract at 12:30 pm, so technically I was past the 3 day period. The national company informed me they would continue to charge my credit card, and that they would sue me if I locked the card. I said, for TWO HOURS???????? What? The?Fuck?

I paid a visit to the manager of the gym in person. I sat down and told him that unless he wanted me to publish that story in the Dallas Morning News, on billboards around town and on every national forum I could access, he should exercise his managerial discretion and nullify the contract.

He did, but the corporation as a whole doesn't deserve another penny from anyone. The complete and total lack of respect they give to their "customers" means they don't deserve the ones they've got.

24 Hour Fitness can sue my happy ass - I have merely told the truth.
