We say Worsh-ing-ton (Washington) etc - a few other strange nuanced tells.

... the above to be contrasted with true Deep South folks like my husband (from New Orleans - pronounced "Nawlins") who unfailingly make all words ending with "an a" sound like "er." Further the concept of "GO CUP" in the French Quarter is the greatest invention since sliced bread. :party:
