that Conservatives are people who don't deal well with contradiction,
ambiguity, and complexity. They want the world to be more simple and
black and white than it is. Conservatives think problems should have clear
solutions, and should be easily resolved, and don't handle things well when
that is not the case. (see work by Stephen Ducat)

A few years ago there was a million dollar government funded study done
on what makes Conservatives tick (sorry I don't have the link). It came
to the conclusion that Conservativeness is indeed a form of mental ill-health.

A number of Conservative members of our Government were less than
happy when they heard about that. :)
