PROUD.

Of course, like Timothy Dalton, people won't dig a harsh guy who puts wit above gadets. People will want the stupid double entendres and gadgets.

(I dunno why Dalton is disliked, but any Bond fan of the book era will acknowledge that Dalton's portrayal, by far, is closest to that of the Fleming novels. Connery would be #2, although Roger Moore in "For Your Eyes Only" (after the teaser) is refreshingly cold and callous and very much Bond-like, in the way Bond should be.

I can't wait for Casino Royale to come out.

But, yeah, nix the silliness and 99% of the double entendres and give it a gritty production with a bit of freshness and soul, and they've got a winner. (well, to me, but I'm not a mainstream audience member. I like art and creativity and I have a brain. These things are usually frowned upon in the mass-media industry. Much like most of the others...)
