11. "With your skills you should be fine"?
Bandy says: "keep your chin up with your skills you should be fine. I sure wish you all the Luck possible."

Trust me, your skills have NOTHING, zero, zilch to do with the ability to find a job in this abysmal bush economy. I know hundreds of intelligent, talented, highly skilled people who have been out of work for 9 to 18 months...and more. Luck? Yeah, luck is about all anyone has going for them finding a job in the bush economy. That and accepting slave wages in the part-time service industry.

Take my advice - go out and splurge on something that allows you to feel better about yourself. Realize that your being fired has NOTHING at all to do with you, your skills or your work.

Then, hunker down for an extremely long haul. Cut back on as many expenses as possible. If you have the resources, retire as much debt as possible as quickly as possible. Delay any major purchases you were planning on making. If you can find any work at all, take it.

Prosperity is NOT around the corner; the economy is going to suck for AT LEAST the next 4 years, even if a Dem gets elected in 2004.

Sorry to be so pessimistic. Just consider this your "moment of Zen" for the day.
