6. Could it be...
... that the door interlock switch is not working? Most washers will not spin and some will not even agitate if they think the door is open.

Look around and see if you can see the switch. Or poke a pencil down in the hole (with the door open) while is "should" be agi/spinning and see if you can get it to start.

And fooey an anyone who says you should dump it at 8 years. A washer should go at least 12 and maybe 15!
