Well, since my husband and I have just celebrated 40 years...we didn't meet online. I don't think the internets existed in 1964!
I was dating a young man then. I was in love with him and he with me, I thought...But he felt (probably correctly) that I had not dated enough people. So we had a mutual acquaintance. He gave this guy my phone number and told him to call me; told MA that I thought he was cute! (this was a lie!) And then my love told me that he had done this, and that he was going to go date other people too..But he promised to return!
Well, by the time he did, some months later....it was too late! I'd decided that MA (now my husband) was the man for me......
And forty years later, two daughters, two sons-in-law and one fabulous grandchild later, we are still very much in love with each other and our lives together.......
Ain't love grand?
