26. LOL, you've got a runner!
A friend of mine had a beagle mix who was a Houdini artist, and would go over, under, around and through fences, it was absolutely amazing. What we finally wound up doing is putting in a wooden privacy fence, so he couldn't climb up the chain links, seven foot high, so he couldn't jump is, surrounded by a base of large rocks, so he couldn't dig under it. Ugly as hell, but it finally kept him in. Of course, being an unfixed male, he was getting out so that he could chase after the females in heat. I hope your pup is fixed though.

Another alternative you might consider is on of those electric fences with the shocking collar. My brother in law uses them on his two dogs, and it keeps them where they're supposed to be pretty darned good. I know, I find the concept of shocking an animal disturbing too, but better shocked and alive than free and dead.

Hang in there, dogs are much tougher than you think, and they can pull through a lot of injuries that would kill people.
