Reply #104: At an anime convention during a hash bash [View All]

Ok... so I don't do drugs. But I support the legalization of drugs. So around 11 years ago I went with a bunch of fellow UUs(Unitarian Universalists) went to the Ann Arbor annual Hash Bash. It was a day where the laws regarding smoking pot were "relaxed". Since then it has become a little more controvercial. But there we are. A buncha long hair hippie freaks (one abstaining) supporting legalization.

Some of the people in the group mentioned that there was a monthly anime convention type thing going on later on that evening on campus. Having long been something of a fan I decided to attend.

I learned that most of the women in the group (I was the only guy) knew another UU member that was already at the convention and we would meet her there.

So we show up(it had boiled down to just two of us due to one of the others smoking a bit too much and getting sick). As we are waiting by the door to see if we are in the right place this woman comes bounding out of the room with the biggest goofiest smile on her face. She runs up and hugs my companion and then for no apparent reason gives me a big hug too (she's good at hugs). This was Kathleen (later to be named The Bunny). I was caught at first sight. We have been together ever since.
