Be a Manners Police Recruit...

I grew up with women that had very stringent ideas of what courtesy was--what was polite, impolite, etc. There are things I can't bring myself to do, because it is ingrained in me as rude. When I see/hear others do these things, I am a surprised that social mores have relaxed so much. Then again, there are other things I'm glad no one bothers with...

So--Just for this thread--you are now The Manners Police.

What citations would you issue and why?

My citations:

1.Gum poppers (those that chew gum with open mouths and insist on snapping and popping it).

2. People that ask other's age-- I feel age is only relevant when you are wine or cheese. Asking (outside of the DU lounge) is the epitome of rudeness, imo. I felt this way at 20--I always cringed when I heard someone (strangers) ask others age.

3. Rude drivers--no signaling prior to turning or passing into lanes.

4. People that talk on cell phones in public places and practically yell ALL of their business to anyone in range of them--just classless. (No cell phones growing up, so technically no one taught me this was rude--I just think it is. ;)).

5. Atrocious table manners. Don't just mean elbows on the table stuff... I once dated a guy that ate like he was incarcerated--complete with him guarding his food with one hand. (I wish I was kidding...)

Anyway...your turn!!!
