8. I refuse to patronize Circuit City
Back in '98, I purchased a new computer from them. Took it home and it did not work. So, I took it back a couple of days later after several long phone calls (the store was 1 1/2 hours from where I lived at the time). Their techs tried to get it to work to no avail. So, they would give me a different one, right? Ooops, it's out of stock, but upgrade to this other one, it's only $200 more. And BTW, we have to charge you an open box fee of $100 for each box. So, that's another $200. I tell them to shove it and get my $$$ back minus the $200 and buy elsewhere.

I wrote to their corporate consumer complaint dept and guess what? I never did receive a reply from them. That is why I will never spend a dime at Circuit City ever again.
