37. Romantic story? I've got tons.
I'll always remember the first day I met my fiancee. We met on the internet (here, actually), and we'd been talking on the phone for weeks. We had agreed to meet in Montclair, NJ, which was sort of a halfway point between my home and hers. I had a rose for her, and I made up a cheese and fruit tray and tried to stuff it into a cooler that was much too small for the tray. I arrived an hour and a half early at our rendezvous point, a garden spot in Montclair.

And I waited. And waited. The rose died in the heat. The cheese fell off the tray into the cooler. I got a little neurotic. I must have brushed my hair about 50 times while I was waiting, and I must have gargled about half a bottle of mouthwash.

She had been caught in a traffic jam coming over the George Washington Bridge. It was nearly three hours after I arrived that she pulled up in her minivan. I'll never forget the huge smile on her face as she waved to me like we were old friends, and my neurosis vanished. When she stepped out of the van, I saw her in person for the first time, and my heart melted. I knew at that moment that I was in love, and that she was the person that I was going to spend the rest of my life with.

We haven't looked back since that day. Nothing has changed except for my love for her, which has grown daily since then.

:loveya:
