2. You might not have been trying to be funny but that is hilarious!
This quote brought back a memory from 40 some years ago...;

"6) Don’t use me as a way to get even with your neighbor. We can weed that crap out pretty quickly. We’re pretty good at determining that you’ve already called the police, social services, bylaw enforcement and animal control. Having failed to receive satisfaction from them you call a charity to harass your neighbor. "

Back in the late 60's my Dad bought a house in suburban Washington, DC. Behind our house was a wooded area that stretched back for a couple miles (since then, almost completely developed) with a stream running at the base of the ridge. The stream was about 100 yards from our back door. Totally cool for a little kid. No deer, but plenty of birds and of course, Squirrels.

Like many kids our age and of those years, my big brother got a Daisy BB gun for xmas one year. We used to shoot the water strider bugs in the creek, target shoot, etc. with it. Now, bear in mind a BB, being a spherical projectile has a trajectory about as reliable as Shrub forming a coherent sentence that wasn't written down. So...being little kids...we would shoot at the squirrels on occasion. The Squirrels seemed to be more amused at our feeble attempts at hunting than anything and i doubt we even got close to ever hitting one since they tended to hang out high in the branches of the big oaks in the woods whenever we would head out.

One day a neighbor lady from 3 or 4 doors down came by to complain to us. (we were 8 & 9 year olds, mind you - with the marksmanship of..well...8 & 9 year olds) "We moved out here to be near the wildlife and nature and I don't think it is right that you kids are shooting at the defenseless Squirrels!"

She even went to our house to talk to my mom.

Mom said "Stop shooting at the Squirrels. At least when you think she might be looking."

The Squirrels in the meantime, laying across their branches, 40 feet above us, seemed amused at the entire scene. Then they went back to making more baby Squirrels. There was no shortage of Squirrels in Montgomery County, I assure you.

After reading your post, I am in retrospect, quite surprised we never got a visit from your late-60's era counterpart!

Keep up the good work. Don't let the dipshits get you down.
