I didn't have a digital camera when I did the hike and that's probably a good thing. I would've spent too much time snapping pics and gotten stuck on the trail after dark, and I suspect all the dust and grime might have messed up the camera lens. The red dirt/sand is permanently on my socks and god knows what it would have done to sophisticated electronics.
