9. This is just heartbreaking

And he looks just like our late Fergie, the best cat ever.

You mustn't blame yourself. I know that's easy for me to say. Probably something has been really wrong for a long time that just hasn't shown up on tests. We went through a similar situation with our beloved Simba last summer. He had always been a barfer, and he was vomiting more over the last year of his life. He lost a lot of weight and weighed 4.4 lbs. at the end. Turned out he probably had a tumor and we never knew it. We felt soooooo terrible that we'd let him down. But there are certain things you can't control, and even money won't help.

Flash is just beautiful, and I know how much you love him. Can you go visit him at the vet? It would probably comfort him to know you were there.

I wouldn't be worrying that he's suffering at the vet's - I'm sure they're keeping him as comfortable as possible.

Believe me, Flash knows how much you love him. He isn't thinking now that you've abandoned him. Animals are much more patient than we are and have no sense of dread about anything - they live very much in the present. He knows you are with him in spirit, even if not physically.

Take care, and keep us posted. I know how horrible you must be feeling right now and am suffering for you.

:pals: :pals:
