36. No, it's not
The piercing "gun" itself can NOT be sterilized. Bodily fluids can (and do) blow back onto the gun. The "cleaning" solution is useless.

And in a "regular" piercing place, they use needles, not guns. The gun causes a blunt trauma to the ear. The needle makes a clean hole.

Just because you didn't have problems, doesn't mean it's good. And I doubt a Claire's employee goes through lengthy apprenticeships or takes classes on blood borne pathogens, first aid, etc.
