So this is the situation with the post office....
Advertisements [?]
I went to the post office yesterday to mail two bills.

I needed to buy one 41 cent stamp and one 2 cent stamp to make up the difference for a 39 cent stamp I had. (But I was more than happy to just buy two 41 cent stamps to get it over with).

So I walked over to the vending machine...

There must have been 12 selections, but of course, no option to purchase a single .41 or .2

Yet there were some 58 cent stamps for my needs! :eyes:

As for the .41's, the machine was only allowing me to buy a whole fricken COIL for $41.00

Oh hell no.

Naturally, there was something like 15 people in line with two windows open. And it was one of those lines with people you just knew were going to take forever. Some were holding multiple packages. Ughhh!!

So I had to wait in line for 20 minutes to mail two envelopes.

When I asked the worker at the window about the situation, he told me that they get a lot of complaints from people about not being able to buy single stamps in the machine. Duh.

Even though I was irritated when I heard that, I played it cool because (A) it's not his fault and (B) he is after all -- cough, cough -- a postal worker...

But I'm telling you....yet another thing the government can't do right.

I could buy a bunch of air mail stamps in the f'ing machine (like we all mail so many things abroad :eyes:), but a .41 cent stamp? Hell no, get in line.

Are there any DU Postal workers who can explain this policy or is it just my post office?

I could see it as a money-making scheme so the consumer has to buy more stamps than they need.

Dang, it's almost as bad as going to the DMV.
