of the hot air kind. Bloody expensive though :( We turn it down and have a little heater for the bedroom and that stays 65 - the rest of the house goes down to 55.

Best kind I remember was the stored electric heaters my parents have. They are charged up part-way in the day and most-way overnight with off-peak electric; the electric company decides when to turn on and off the heating. However the heat gets stored in the heater and if you get a little too chilly you could release some of the heat. The electric company also knows if it's going to be especially chilly and will charge up for longer if it is going to be extra-cold.
