I'm not debating the merits of marijuana legalization, I'm making a statement. The issue is NOT the legal status of recreational marijuana use. It's about the use of marijuana as part of a MEDICAL treatment program.

Gov. Dean has stated that he's not inclined to support the use of an illegal drug as a medical treatment without an FDA study that proves that it is better than currently available, legal treatments. I may think that crack is a great cure for the chicken pox. Wouldn't you say it was silly to endorse the use of crack as a medical treatment without proving that crack was the best available substance?

Again, this has NOTHING to do with the legalization of recreational marijuana use. That's another issue entirely (which I don't think has anything to do with racism, by the way).
