Sorry, but what you're saying about Edwards is just not true. Edwards is known, both in NC and in DC for his excellent constituency services, which is particularly remarkable for a freshman Senator who had to start from the ground up (unlike Senators who had been in office for decades or inherited seats and veterans staffs from friendly Senators who had been in office for decades).

He also has an excellent voting record - in fact, in the 107th Congress, he had a 100% record. Even while running for President this year, his voting percentage has consistently been in the high 80s and 90s, better than any of the other Democratic candidates who are currently serving.

The tax issue is a typical Republican rant. However, as he explained it, that was a simple, albeit unfortunate (and no doubt, embarrassing) oversight, but as soon as it was brought to his attention, he paid it. Hardly worth the uproar that Republicans tried to generate around it.
