5. For me, it's middle class opportunity. The last 20 years of US history
to me have been, essentially, the accelartion of the placement of the yolk of quasi-slavery on the middle class. The Republiicans have legislated a world in which they take a huge chunk of the wealth created by the labor of the middle class and transferr that wealth to the already wealthy. The ONLY thing that's going to save America is if we address this huge problem which is draining America of all its potential.

Edwards is the only candidate who speaks directly to this issue. Not only that, of all the canidates, including Kucinich and Sharpton, he is the living symbol of that philosophy of government and society.

That combination of policy concerns plus symbolism is simply too powerful to ignore. Edwards even makes Clinton look like a NE privileged elite (with his Georgetown, Oxford and Yale degress, and his extensive network of NY-DC power corridor friendships even when he was a Governor) by compariison.
