DENNIS KUCINICH | THURSDAY JULY 31
Democratic Presidential Candidate; U.S. Congressman, Ohio

THE COMING TRANSFORMATION

Dennis Kucinich first came to national prominence when elected mayor of Cleveland in 1977 at age 31, making him the youngest person ever elected to lead a major American city. As a four-term U.S. congressman and now a declared Democratic presidential candidate, Kucinich has been called "the purer anti-Pentagon alternative to Howard Dean." He wants to cut the Pentagon budget by $60 billion, cancel NAFTA and the WTO, and replace private sector insurance and pharmaceutical firms with government-run entities. He has received endorsements from such notables as Ben Cohen (of Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream), actors Ed Norton, Jeff Bridges and Ben Affleck, and Willie Nelson. Can he attract a broad enough base of voters to win? Here's a chance to hear a major candidate early on in the process.

11:15 a.m., Check-in | 12:00 p.m., Program | Club Office, 595 Market St, 2nd floor, San Francisco | $6 for Members, $12 for Non-members | Directions to the Club.
