7. Again way too early
First, we don't have a nominee yet. Second, he wasn't won yet. Third, there are massive considerations aside from ability which need to be thought of. We probably can't have Senators from states with Republican governors. That eliminates Kerry, Kennedy, Graham, and several other good choices.

That said. There are several no brainers


Dean should have a role if he loses. He would be a great VP for Edwards. He also would be good for Treasury or HHS.

Mosley Braun would be a huge asset. HHS would be good for her. Labor too.

Graham would be great in CIA Director, State, or NSA. If he choses to retire form the Senate.

Gore would be great at State.

Cleland would be good for Defense.


Krugman Chair of Economic advisers would be good.

Blumenthal as Press Secretary would be such just deserts.
