When someone actually mentions that the media is liberal, don't you want to get up and actually physically harm that person?

Maybe that comes off as a tad harsh, but as someone with a media degree, watching what's on TV and the type of reporting with a critical eye, it's stunningly obvious that the media is not only not liberal, but is in fact conservative. People only say the media is liberal because that's what they've heard from Republicans, and Republicans have only said it so that they can 1) put pressure on the media to sway them in their direction, and 2) portray themselves as victims.

Fox News was created pretty much for the sole purpose of pressing political discourse far, far, far to the right, and the way they do it -- a fashion that is less pure information and more confrontational entertainment -- worked beautifully. Ratings is simply more important than content, and Fox News used this concept to influence the discourse for the conservatives.

This "liberal media" crap pisses me off to no end. And the conservatives just scream "CBS! Dan Rather! Memogate!", even though 1) everything said in the memos was true, and 2) it was proven that there was no political bias. Failing that, they just claim the media is liberal because it's been said to them so much that they don't want to believe anything different. In that sense, it's just like the hard-right slant of the news they blindly believe.
