My State Constitution:
"The right of the individual citizen to bear arms in defense of himself, or the state, shall not be impaired, but nothing in this section shall be construed as authorizing individuals or corporations to organize, maintain or employ an armed body of men."
The 9th and 10th Amendments to the Federal Constitution:
9th: "The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people."
10th: "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
This is a Civil Rights issue. I do agree, leveraging the Holocaust in this debate is poor taste, as well as a useless comparison.
