He was probably 19 or 20. He was trying to sell magazine subscriptions so he and his soccer team could go to Hawaii for some match.

I told him that I wasn't interested and didn't really want to spend money right now. He made a crack about me not having any money and having a new car in the driveway. That pissed me off, so I said, "Yes, I have a new car but with the results of the election, I am very nervous about the future and am trying to save as much as possible right now."

We should have left it there.

He comes back by saying, "Well, I'm glad that Bush won. He did an OK job the first four years. Don't you think he deserves a second chance?"

Me: "Good Lord, no! He is the worst president in my memory and he got us into an unnessary war that will bankrupt our nation both financially and morally."

I then told him that I was not going to get into politics with him because I had work to do. He said that that was fine because he could tell he wasn't going to "sell" me anyway.

Dumb ass. There was an example of our youth vote that got away.

And to think, my day was not as bad as yesterday until soccer boy came to my door.
