16. FDR and JFK were proud to be liberals
I watched a show on CSPAN where FDR addressed the Nation from the oval office and he mentioned his ideals and the Democratic party as being liberal atleast 3 times very proudly. JFK did the same. Too many in the party are not embracing the word liberal and thus it has taken a hit in recent years.

But you are right, we need a JFK or FDR.
