12. Honest and open government serving ordinary people, not wealthy elites
This requires, it seems to me:

Limiting the power of corporations and banning their influence over government.
Breaking up monopolies that distort the market and harm the economy.
A return to a progressive tax structure that limits extreme concentration of wealth and lessens the burden on the poor.
An honest electoral mechanism not controlled by partisans or corporate entities.
A free and independent press not intimidated by government.
Effective action against racist and other hate groups that advocate violation of the civil rights of others.
Limiting the power of the Executive branch, and in particular the power to make war without the consent of Congress and the people.

(among other things)
