I've been home with a horrible stomach flu/virus but I have been flipping around the channels to watch the debates and the commentary.

Apparently the predominant authority on all matters related to the Iraq war is ...Osama Bin Laden (according to the minority party of both houses of Congress)

The confirmation of Gen.Patreus was a blanket approval of everything associated with the war in Iraq and all future matters concerning the war in Iraq.

For some reason Tucker Carlson is going his show from beside the HVAC units on top of hotel. Its sort of a "If I was in Baghdad this is how I would do my show" type thing, from California.

The Iranian Quds units are everywhere at once and may be rogue but then they might not be but Gen.Pace didn't say what he said he said so yesterday we do know that there are weapons that were manufactured in Iran in Iraq as well as at least TWO Quds guys who were so cunning that they actually got caught by crack Iraqi police forces at a random traffic stop and that they are in the same country as weapons made in their country means that that is a known known.

NO ONE in the House seems to be aware that the Pentagon, just two weeks ago, had to correct its own statement on the number of wounded in Iraq from 20someK to 50K (when including "non battle field" injuries)

Robert Gates may well have accept his role of "temporary employee" to which most of the Pentagon brass relegates politicians and political appointees.

At least 2% of every dollar allocated to Iraq is lost or wasted.

Every Freshman Democrat is a "rising star" according to Rep.Engel (D-NY)

NPR did a damning report this morning using Bush's own three criteria as to how much progress has been made in Iraq (Iraq forces, electricity, and oil sales) and on all three accounts the performance is either negative or negligible.

Virgil Goode sounds like the old lady who lives beside us.

Bush is effective as ever as a communicator.

I feel like I have seen this movie before.
