18. All you have to do is look at Rove's editorial...
...and it is quite clear that he was out to completely destroy the man
at the core level--on many, many fronts.

They want to run against Hillary.

Rove totally eviscerated Obama, using language that ratchets up doubt about him and
plays into his weaknesses as a candidate. Rove used words to dig knives in Obama.

This was a major hit piece. Plain and simple.

Obama would garner votes from Republicans and he could peel off many Indy votes, in addition to
securing vast support of the Dems. I saw this broad appeal first-hand during the Iowa caucuses.
I meet Republicans who support Obama, almost daily. There's no way Hillary has that broad appeal.
20 percent of Dems would not vote for her, as a recent poll demonstrated.

A Hillary/Republican contest might give Hillary a narrow win. However, Rove and his magic math
machine figure that they can strip away any slight advantage she has with attacks and dirty tricks
and voter fraud.

The Republicans have no chance against Obama, and they know it.

These Republican bastards saw what happened in Iowa. Obama fueled a 100 percent increase in Democrat
participation, from 04. And 04 was a record year. There's no way they could steal it or defeat that
kind of rising tide.

Rove isn't that convoluted. He's pretty straight forward. If he wants someone out, he'll attack them.
He hit all of Obama's weak points---points that Hillary and team are trying to drive home. Rove put
a fine point on all of the Clinton themes against Obama.

The attack was so damaging, and so scathing---so well thought out and concise. The argument that he is
trying to turn people against Hillary, by feigning dislike for Obama--is ridiculous. Rove is not
faking his disdain for Obama. It is real and that WSJ editorial was meticulously designed to drive
Obama's campaign into the ditch. Rove is bloated with self importance. He got in on this game, because
of his ego. He wants to decide against whom their nominee runs. So, he wrote that article. Rove is a
powermonger who loves to destroy people. He did no damage to Clinton with that WSJ editorial. He helped her.

He set out to damage Obama with that article.
