5. Not an expert in this by a long shot
But in order to save the economy, doesn't the government have to intervene in the foreclosure crisis? Though people made poor judgments, it's easy to see that with pressure to get in on a good deal, people would be tempted. I remember there being a tremendous pressure to be a home owner. IMO, it's the subprime lenders who bear the brunt of responsibility for creating this state of affairs.
