17. I used to listen to Beck before he became real political
Edited on Tue Jan-15-08 05:53 PM by seasat
He was a host on talk radio in the Tampa Bay area. He usually talked about every sort of topic and did quite a few gags. He was entertaining in a sophomoric humor way. He used to do a routine called the Schlub Club where he would get listeners from his early morning involved in discussing some phony outrageous issue and make outrageous statements in support of it. They'd then catch unsuspecting callers that weren't in on the joke for laughs. When he did politics, he came across as a moderate Repug. He supported McCain in 2000.

I think that he became a rabid wing nut for Bush because of the money. It allowed him to get a broader audience by modeling himself after Rush Limpballs. I stopped listening to him when he reinvented himself as a wing nut. I think he has seen the writing on the wall and is reinventing himself again to attract a better audience. He's basically a whore, who'll shift his views with the political winds.
