but there was this story that someone found about the Federal matching funds being delayed, affecting Edwards and McCain:

And though each requested additional payments this month, they have yet to receive any money — even from the first authorizations — because of a shortfall in the program.

But the Federal Election Commission, which runs the program, predicts payments won’t start flowing until sometime next month.

The delay could hurt Edwards.

His campaign didn’t respond to requests for comment, but it is struggling to keep pace with the fundraising clip set by his party’s field leaders and has used the promise of the $8.8 million to secure a loan.
