The guy worked his ass off. Uphill every step of the way. Underfunded. News coverage starved ... a fact which has recently become (ironically) sort of a background story run by the same MSM that has been largely ignoring him. It amazes me at this point anyone can discuss this in terms of a betrayal.

Betrayed? Nah. He has his reasons.

Bet let's face facts. In a real sense, Obama and Clinton (as potential first black man or first female President) present historical potentialities that sucked all the air out of the room. That is the stuff pundits thrive upon. And Edwards presented a real threat to the corporatocracy ... he might have actually roused the poeple. So the corporate owned media was pretty determined to keep any fresh air from entering ...

And the campaign has become nothing but toxic ... the running battle between Obama and Clinton with its racist and sexist undertones threatens to snatch Democratic defeat from the jaws of victory this November. Where ever this is going seems to have little relationship to the causes and purposes of the Edwards campaign, and even though he keeps winning debates based on polls and audience reactions, the MSM won't give him or his cause any air.

The corporatists have won this round. Again. Perhaps Edwards will have another day ... but I suspect the populist/progressive flag will have to find another bearer. I suspect Edwards is going to take a break and find some other way to advance his purposes.
