10. They don't "just" own NBC.
I won't even get into their industrial and warmongering enterprises. Here's their media reach--change your channel, to "reject" their BS, and there they are...STILL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_assets_owned_by_General_Electric

If you want to make the connections across the board, this site is helpful: http://www.nowfoundation.org/issues/communications/tv/mediacontrol.html

Here's ABC's assets (note the convergence with GE in a spot or two):

ABC Radio, ABC Video and ABC Network News

Disney Channel
Disney Television (58 hours/week syndicated programming)
Toon Disney
Touchstone Television
A&E (37.5% with Hearst and GE)
Lifetime Network (50%)
ESPN (80% with Hearst)
ESPN2 (80% with Hearst)
ESPN Classic (80% with Hearst)
ESPN West (80% with Hearst)
ESPNews (80% with Hearst)
Buena Vista Television
Biography Channel (with GE and Hearst)
History Channel (37.5% with Hearst and GE)

Classic Sports Network
E! (35%)

If you look at that matrix in the second link, you'll see convergence here and there across the board. Remember Don Imus? He aired on MSNBC television, and was broadcast over the radio on CBS Radio Networks. Now he's doing his radio gig from ABC, and his TV reach is through RFD TV, which will be sucked into "The Vortex" probably sooner, rather than later.
