Hillary's flippant attitude towards non-blue states just shows why she's so divisive

The principle behind the "50 State Strategy" is not to win everywhere, but to be competitive so that you at least force your opponents to pay attention to areas that they may thought were automatically in their column. Also, though it may not result in immediate victories, it could build grassroots support that may turn red areas into blue areas in a generation or so. Obama may not win in Kansas, but if he can put enough pressure on McCain, maybe McCain can't spend as much time in Missouri or California, and will have to keep visiting the Midwest.

What Hillary envisions is the continued entrenchment of blue and red states, and the complete irrelevance of any state that's not Florida or Missouri in every presidential election cycle. I don't know about you, but I'm tired of the presidency depending on a few indecisive nitwits in Ohio. Obama, on the other hand, can change that. He can begin the drastic redrawing of the political map, a sort of deClintonizing of national politics if you will. Maybe he won't be able to win Kansas in 2008, but maybe his successor in 8 years can.
