Underestimation of John McCain is one of the worst things we as democrats can do. I have seen 100’s of posts saying he has no shot. If anyone here thinks Obama or Hillary is going to coast into the Presidency is smoking a very fat bag of crack.

This is no Bob Dole we are up against, nor is McCain some grumpy old man everyone here seems to make him out to be - to look at him as such will be at your own peril. The republicans are facing a trifecta. They will not regain control of the house or senate - and may see a democrat as President. Do you REALLY think they are going to just stand aside and let this happen? Everything short of death threats are on the table and we need to be ready for this.

Right now there is a M$M is having a love affair with the democrats. They love the drama of Hillary vs. Obama and they will keep talking about it 24/7 until it finally comes to an end. Most of the issues between both democrat candidates are pretty much the same, Obama seems to be the better candidate of the two because of charisma, GOTV, etc. The M$M is going to lull us all into complacency and then stick it to us hard - and without lube.

Remember, POLLS MEAN CRAP this early out for the general. Dukakis was 17 points ahead of Ronald Regan before he got a serious beat down in November. You think what we have been seeing between Hillary and Obama is drama? Are you kidding? Just you wait till its one on one.. Between McCain and our Nominee. Its going to be a drunken blood fest of smears and lies.

All the attention has been on our side for a very long time. McCain has been given little to no attention (except for that sex story - which I will get into in a bit). This means he can raise money, get the ground game going, dig up dirt, and basically cross all “t’s” and dot all “I’s”.

The one true test of any candidate is how they can handle scandal and smear. McCain was hit with what looked to be a bombshell of a story - his campaign within a day took that story - turned it around and made it help him rather then hurt him. Twenty-four hours later it was dead, buried. Even fake scandals take longer then 24 hours to go away. That scared the shit out of me to be honest.

Assuming Obama is our nominee (which I want) - If he slips up in anyway - makes any serious gaffs or such.. Get ready for a media shit storm.

The youth vote is very very good for Obama however, like anything “new” it will eventually find its way into a closet - never to be used again. To the youth he is the latest music video, the T-shirt moment for some. Not to diminish him in anyway but we know how the youth is. Eventually Obama will no long be something new, the love affair will be over, and he will just be another candidate - and we have yet to see Obama without the hype - to be honest.

Underestimation will kill us in the general.
