25. What seems to be missing
For far too many on this board, is that it is possible that reasonable people will disagree with them. Some try to rationalize it by saying that those who support the other candidate only do so because they have been tricked. Others say it is because of some sort of prejudice. Some will blame the media for being biased. I happen to think that both Clinton or Obama would make good presidents. I strongly prefer Obama, but should he fall short I would not hesitate to support Clinton. I have not been duped, I hold no prejudices against Clinton, and I have not let the media make my decision for me. And for those that support Clinton, I will not make any similar assumptions. If someone wants to make an argument for their candidate, if they start with the mindset that there is no rational way someone could support the other candidate, they are guaranteed to lose their argument. Because at that point what you are really arguing is not that the other candidate is not as strong a choice, but the person you are trying to convince is either stupid, gullible, or prejudiced. It simply will not work. Abandoning this board because others disagree with you is not very mature.
