I don't think it's helpful, or even ethical, to hold Person A's statements against Person B, whether it's one of Clinton's friends, or Obama's, or McCains... or yours or mine. Everyone, I imagine, has had a friend (or likely still has one) with whom one doesn't agree 100% on every issue under the sun, and also who occasionally says or does really dumb things. I would hope that no one would hold my friend's actions against me, and so I don't hold other peoples' friends' actions against them.

Purity tests piss me off, because there is not a single person in the world who is "pure"; thus, everyone playing the purity test game is a lying hypocrite who serves merely to continue to dumb down the intellectual and maturity levels of this country. Which levels were already, as you hopefully realize, dangerously low and practically non-existent.
