21. Most of you have missed this sentence
"Early on, he was in search of his identity as an African-American and, more importantly, as an African-American man. Reverend Wright and other male members of the church were instrumental in helping him understand the black experience in America."

Historically, whites have always sat in judgment of blacks - and now they are doing it again. As far as whites are concerned, there is no such thing as trying to walk a hundred miles in someone else's shoes.

In my life, I have had associations with people who I regard as family - both family members and people who are like family. I do not agree with some of what they say - in fact some are prejudiced - but after stating very clearly why I don't agree, I would not distance myself from these people. Obama was correct the first time - Wright is like an uncle who has different opinions. Unfortunately, Wright threw Obama under the bus.

With respect to judgment, after listening to both candidates, Obama is far superior in many judgments he has made. Both have made mistakes, they are human after all. But Wright is not responsible for anything close to the carnage that has happened in Iraq in BOTH THE BUSH AND CLINTON administrations.
